What the Heart sees…

My eyes and Heart were moved by this black and white photo of a little girl praying and looking up into the Light.

I don’t know who took the photo so I cannot give credit. My Heart is grateful for the image and the inspiration it has provided.

I am reminded of the Bible quote “And he said: Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3.

In my experience, the Heart is the home and safe place for the child within us and can be our window into heaven.

This image repeatedly called to me to play with it and enhance it to reflect more what my Heart sees when I look at it.  At first, I took it to Photoshop and began playing with saturation and contrast.  Then I realized that what I wanted to illustrate was more than what was revealed in the photo itself and added a filter.

Then, step by step, I began to add more of the unseen Light that I felt and sensed within my own Heart…the dove representing the presence of Spirit emerging in the Light.

Since my Heart speaks haiku…

 seek the Light within

in darkness, love seeks the Light

praying as a child

Another example of my intention to “color on purpose”!

what the eyes see………

what the Heart sees…..

“The heart knows the truth,

and it is through the heart that we perceive Spirit.”
